How do chelsea boots fasten?
They do not. Elastic panels set into both sides let the boot stretch as you pull it on and then hold it close to the leg. There is nothing to fasten and nothing to loosen, which is most of their appeal.
How do I protect the suede?
Treat the pair with a protector spray before first wear and brush the nap gently with a soft brush afterwards. Avoid heavy rain, and let any damp pair dry naturally away from direct heat.
Black or Cognac suede?
Black is the sharper choice for evening and tailoring. Cognac is warmer and more autumnal, and it looks especially good with denim, camel knitwear and cream.
